Byobu / Early Spring at Shinsen-en Garden – Japanese partition [Side A]

“The Arrival of Spring and Early Blooming Flowers at Shinsen-en Garden”.

I draw side A of the Byobu – The Early Spring of Shinsen Temple, in Kyoto, as that is a well known global event.

It took me some time to prepare myself for that drawing.

First ,I had to stretch the paper on the two wooden frames and then paint the Shinsen Temple in the right atmosphere.

I drew – The sky, The flow of the lake waters, The tree, The green garden, The stone Tōrōs, and – The early pink blossom.

The Byobu was displayed at my exhibition in Kyoto, which opened on the 25th April, 2026.

Painting the Byobu on side A – The Temple and its surroundings was a meditative experience.

I drew side A of the Byobu – with Japanese traditional water colours.

I stamped the painting proudly, with my Japanese stamp.

The Byobu was displayed at my exhibition in Kyoto, which opened on the 25th April, 2026.
